Christ Church posted this statement on their website on 7 February:
It is notable for a number of reasons: first, the Dean was not invited to make a statement as well, which would be normal in the case of a mutually agreed retirement or resignation. Repeated requests to Christ Church and their media manager about this have neither been acknowledged nor answered.
Secondly, the statement by Ms X is longer than that by Christ Church and the fact that there was no settlement between the Dean and Ms X, in relation to an allegation he has always denied, is not made clear.
Thirdly, there are repeated references to sexual harassment, even though no such accusation has ever been proved, and was indeed rejected in the Church of England decision by Dame Sarah Asplin following a Clergy Discipline Measure brought against the Dean by Christ Church.
